How to get to Handara Gate
Handara Gate Bali is in North Bali, to get there just type ‘Handara Golf & Resort Bali’ in Google Maps. It is easily accessible and is clearly seen from the side of the road. Making your way from around Canggu, Seminyak and Ubud will take you between 1.5 – 2 hours. If you intend to get there by taxi expect prices of around 400,000 IDR. However, we would encourage you to rent your own scooter and drive there yourself. It’s more enjoyable and much cheaper with prices around 50,000 – 70, 000 IDR per day to rent.
If you do intend to get there by taxi then why not make the most of it? Hire the driver for the day and tour North Bali and visiting loads of amazing waterfalls, the famous Ulun Danu Beratan Temple and many other things to do in North Bali.
If you’re using a scooter like most backpackers, you’ll need to download Offline Google Maps or use the Maps.me app for those times when you don’t have Internet. Check out the map below to help gather your bearings.
Opening Times & Fees?
Officially the opening times are 6am – 10pm. However, there isn’t anything stopping you from taking a picture at the famous Bali gate outside of these times.
If you want to take a picture during opening times expect to pay a mandatory fee of 30,000 IDR for a ‘Selfie Ticket’. Yes, a selfie ticket, such is the world today! Although, it isn’t that much money for a beautiful picture of the Handara Gate Bali. You will be rewarded with a stunning backdrop of green mountains, so just pay it and enjoy the memories. The ticket booth is right next to the gate, as you come off the main road.
Handara Golf & Resort Bali
Handara Golf & Resort Bali, believe it or not, is an actual golf course. Many people just go for a picture in front of the gate and forget about the rest. If this is your thing, you can stay within the grounds and practice your swing. They also host weddings and dining experiences.
The famous Bali gate is a unique piece of architecture and design belonging to Indonesia. You won’t find this anywhere else in the world. It also helps that behind the gate is a jaw dropping view of the green mountains and a slight haze, at times, covers it giving it a mystical feel.
