What to expect from Fraser Island
There are many hotspots on Fraser Island that everyone must-see.

Some of the more popular destinations include Lake McKenzie, S.S Maheno shipwreck, Indian Head and the Champagne Pools.

Most, if not all of the tours will visit the majority of these sites although it does depend on the amount of time you intend to spend on the Island.
The longer the tour, the better the experience in our opinion.
Lake McKenzie
Lake McKenzie Fraser Island is probably on top of most people’s list when visiting Fraser Island.

It is a crystal clear, pristine, turquoise lake surrounded by pure silica sand. Lake Mckenzie is the ideal place to relax and jump into the freshwater to get relief from the sun.
It is filled with pure rainwater and is so fresh only a few organisms can survive in it. No need to worry about anything biting your toes, you’ll be safe taking a dip.
S.S Maheno
The Fraser Island Shipwreck was a disaster which has now turned into a historical landmark.

What was once one of the first turbine-driven steamers of the world, travelling between Sydney and Auckland, the S.S Maheno now sits on the shores of the 75-mile beach on Fraser Island, gracefully rusting away for us to appreciate.
It would be hard to miss as most of the driving takes place on the 75-mile beach, so most tours should offer this as part of their package.
Champagne Pools
Champagne Pools Fraser Island is one big natural jacuzzi for everyone to enjoy.

Formed over many years by volcanic rocks, these natural wonders are rock pools which draw in the sea and fizzle away making you think you’re in a spa.
With this natural spa comes an amazing view. Whilst you sit back and relax you can admire the ocean looking out over the 75-mile beach.
It is also a good spot for whale watching.
Indian Head
Indian Head Fraser Island is the number one lookout point for any visitor.

You will have 360 panoramic views of the whole Island. Standing on the most easterly point on the Island, you will be able to spot beautiful wildlife.
Turtles, manta rays, dolphins and even whales can be spotted in the right season.
This is right next to the Champagne Pools so look out for them both as part of a tour package.
Whichever tour you choose you will be sure to have an amazing experience.
